Bidrage med feedbackI purchased the Sumo dorayaki, Tempo drum, and castella at the restaurant. The Tempo drum came in two flavors: brown sugar and soybean flour, both of which were delicious. The Sumo dorayaki seemed to have chestnuts inside and was priced at 160 yen, a bit higher than the 110 yen Tempo drum. They also sold whole castella, but I opted for a sliced piece. The restaurant had a splendid and charming appearance, and I would definitely stop by again if I'm in the Choshi area.
The red bean paste here is exquisite and refined. When I first visited this place about 20 years ago, the elderly lady who was already over 80 years old recommended me to try the grass mochi, and taught me that real red bean paste is not black but a light purple color. Despite the price increase due to the use of beans from Hokkaido, there is no complaint. The taste, made with care and sincerity, is outstanding. Grandma, live long!
I had always wanted to try this restaurant, but it was far from my home. Finally, I had the opportunity and I am glad that I went. The exterior was charming and the interior was clean and inviting. The owner was very polite and helpful. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but this time I purchased the water manju and bracken rice cake. I had tried their strawberry daifuku as a souvenir before and it was really tasty.
